Recent work set by TCM. Series of three A2 film posters that would encapsulate the themes and narratives of 3 individual films as a set. After various development and research, the most appropriate imagery seemed to be the satanic symbolism. Each of the symbols have deeper meanings that relate to the subject of the film, the most obvious being the pentagram/ pentacle representing Satan in the film “Devil”.
Each design has differences that i had tried to accentuate as much as possible whilst maintaining the designs overall style.

Constantine is a film based upon one man and his on-going quest for redemption. It has a central protagonist struggling between heaven and hell, which is why i chose the peace symbol to depict it. The peace symbol also has a deeper meaning originally as it was designed to mean peace without Christianity which i think is a strong theme within the film as the protagonist is in a constant struggle between both heaven and hell, as he is unwelcome in either. The blood in the top right corner is meant to convey the humanity of the main characters within the film.

Devil is probably the most obvious of the three as the symbol is so well recognised, as well as the idea of hell being associated with fire. The film has themes of punishment and anarchy of natural order within it, which is why i have placed the flames at the top of the image, since it is burning upside down.
Legion is a film which tells a story about a group of people and an angel, and their struggle to survive. As opposed to the other two films, the struggle is against heaven and the wrath of god. The symbol is meant to represent the four elements and a balance on Earth. The white was chosen so that it differs from the other two ideas, as well as representing purity, which is meant to be represented as the birth of a child within the film.
All three contain a font that i chose because of its ability to be sinister in order to represent hell, as well as being light enough to represent the purity of heaven. I have altered the weights of the typeface in each of the posters to further the emphasis of themes within each of the films and create a slight degree of individualism with each of the posters.
